Salvia, New Dimension Rose

$12.00

Mature Plant Size: 12-18″x15-18″

New Dimension Rose Salvia (Salvia nemorosa ‘New Dimension Rose’) is a compact, bushy meadow sage with dense spikes of vivid rose-pink flowers that fade to reveal burgundy calyces, held above fragrant, narrow, gray-green foliage. Its tidy size suits the front of a bed, edging, and containers, and the flowers cut well and draw bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.

At Flying Rabbit Farm, our New Dimension Rose Salvia transplants are grown for compact, well-branched growth and heavy bloom suited to Austin borders and containers.

Pruning & Maintenance

Deadhead spent flower spikes to encourage rebloom
A quick shearing after the main flush refreshes growth

Common Issues

Generally low maintenance
Poor drainage and wet winter soil can cause crown rot

Rated hardy through Zone 8b, which is Austin’s zone and the warm end of this salvia’s range
Expect its best performance in spring and early summer and again in fall; good drainage matters most
