Beginner Vegetable Gardening Pre-Spring Workshop

November 15 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
$22.00

New to growing your own food? This is the workshop to start with. Central Texas gardening doesn’t follow the rules you’ll find in most books or YouTube videos — we’ve got heavy clay soil, a short mild window before the heat hits, and a spring planting season that rewards good timing more than anything else.

We’ll kick off with a one-hour presentation covering what to plant once frost danger passes (think tomatoes, peppers, squash, and beans), how to work with our clay soil instead of against it, and how to get warm-season crops established before the summer heat stresses them out.

Then we’ll head outside for two hours of hands-on learning — building up soil in a raised bed, planting seeds and transplants, and laying down drip irrigation, so you leave knowing exactly how it’s done, not just how it’s supposed to be done.

You’ll take home:

  • A planting calendar
  • A soil & fertilizer guide
  • A free transplant for your own garden

Suggested items to bring:

  • Water bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Bug spray
  • Paper and pen
  • Folding chair
  • Gloves.

No experience needed — just come ready to get your hands in the dirt.

Early Bird Price of $22 ends on 10/31
Regular price of $30 begins 11/1
